  • Can I get a job in Dubai while living in India?

Yes. Most tech hires from India are interviewed by video and hired before they move. The employer sponsors and pays for the visa. Right now 238 of the IT jobs we list in Dubai are open to candidates abroad.

  • Which CV format is best for Dubai?

A reverse-chronological CV of 1 to 2 pages in a plain, one-column layout, with a short summary and a line of personal details (nationality, visa status, location, notice period) at the top. For tech roles, add your stack and links to your projects.

  • What is an offer letter in the UAE?

The employer's written offer of the job: the title, the start date, the contract type, the salary split into basic and allowances, leave and notice. For your work permit it goes on MOHRE's approved form, and the MOHRE labour contract that follows should carry the same terms.

  • How do I calculate my gratuity in the UAE?

Divide your monthly basic salary by 30 to get a daily wage. Multiply it by 21 for each of your first 5 years and by 30 for each year after that. Part years count in proportion, and the total is capped at 2 years' wage (your basic plus allowances), which only matters after more than 25 years with one employer.

  • What are the new rules for resignations in the UAE?

Under the 2021 labour law you give written notice of 30 to 90 days after probation, as your contract says, and you keep your gratuity whether you resign or are let go. During probation you give 1 month to move to another UAE employer or 14 days to leave the country.

  • Which medical test will reject your UAE visa?

At a first residence visa: a positive HIV test, pulmonary TB on the chest X-ray (active or old), or leprosy. Hepatitis B and C and syphilis only count for set jobs, such as domestic, nursery, beauty and health workers. TB found at renewal doesn't end your residence as long as you're treated.

  • What is the difference between Ejari and a tenancy contract?

The tenancy contract is the agreement you sign with the landlord. Ejari is the Dubai Land Department's register of those contracts: registering the contract with Ejari makes it official, and you need the Ejari certificate for DEWA and for a family visa.

  • Is Dubai tax-free for UK citizens?

Dubai doesn't tax your salary: the UAE has no income tax on individuals. The UK stops taxing your Dubai pay once you're non-resident under the Statutory Residence Test, usually by working full-time abroad and spending fewer than 91 days in the UK in the tax year. UK income such as rent is still taxed in the UK.

About the AI advisor

What does the AI advisor answer from?

From this site's own data and guides, through a fixed set of tools it can only read: pay by role and level, household budgets, take-home pay, visa routes, the jobs we list, areas and schools, the move checklist, and the cited figures in our guides. Every number in an answer is checked against what those tools returned. When one can't be matched, the answer says so and we review it.

Is the AI advisor free?

You can ask 1 question without an account, and 5 questions a month with a free account. The 7-day review comes with 50 questions, and the 6-month pass with 300 questions a month.

Why do I have to log in to keep asking?

Each answer runs an AI model over our data, which costs us money. You can try it with 1 question before you log in. A free account needs an email address and no card, and gets 5 questions a month.

What happens to my question?

Without an account, your question and its answer are kept in your browser only: we record that a question was asked, not its words. The question goes to the AI model that writes the answer, and is never used to train AI. With an account, your conversations are kept in your account so you can come back to them, and you can delete them at any time.

Can I rely on the answer for my visa or contract?

Use it as guidance. It isn't legal, tax or financial advice: for a visa, an offer or a contract, confirm with your employer or the official source before you act. Each answer shows the sources its figures came from.

What can't the advisor answer?

Anything outside working in and moving to Dubai. It doesn't search the web: it knows what is in our data and guides, and when we don't have a figure it says so instead of guessing.
